What is the Retail-Office Training Activity?
The Retail-Office Training Activity (R0TA) is for adults diagnosed with an intellectual disability or developmental delay, with the goal of finding employment in their community.
Through taking on various projects and responsibilities, participants will be taught the core set of Employability Skills. In addition to these, participants will also be taught various hard skills related to this specific activity. These may include:
- General Retail Work
- Customer Service
- Print Work
-Courier Services
Schedules and assignments are individual and participation may span any length of time for up to one year as determined by Options Mississauga.

Examples of Retail-Office Training Activity Work Experiences
- Customer service – provided to customers in the office and over the phone
- Cash register operation
- Retail print operation – photocopy, FAX, scan, binding, collating, shredding
- Purolator and FedEx courier service – parcel sorting and logging information
- General upkeep and tidiness of store, office and grounds
Activity Cost
Each shift costs $35 per shift. These fees help pay the salaries of our job coaches.
