What is the Chefs-in-Training Activity?
The Chefs-in-Training Activity develops essential employability skills such as dependability, teamwork, following instructions, caring for the work environment and working safely. Participants learn practical food service industry cooking and baking skills from experienced instructors and chefs.

Examples of Activity-specific Skills Taught
Recipes Include:
As a regular feature of this activity, participants receive recipes after having hands-on experience with them in class, and may take the food they have prepared home with them.
Activity participants also share a percentage of the money raised during culinary fundraising initiatives.
Cost of Activity
The cost of each lesson is $50 and participants attend once a week. The fees for the activity help to cover the cost of activity planning, time to shop and cost of food, equipment, and materials.
